Snow Day in Ohio

Meet our Christmas Tree this year :)

We currently live at the North Pole.
Seriously, this snow thing is all new to this southern girl!
What is wonderful about the snow here is they actually have the equipment to clear off the roads..and our little community gets the sideways looking perfect..so you can actually enjoy the snow. It is also dry..unlike what I am normally use to..slush. It is just gorgeous!!
On a somewhat sad note, since I was in Memphis until just the other day..and just got Christmas decor out yesterday, and with our snow blizzard that came through..Matt and I decided to skip the tree this year..so that's why I made that comment on the above picture..lol
It is a little sad, and wierd not to have one, but, Presley doesn't know the difference and we will for sure get back on track with the tradition next year! :) I want Christmas to be special, and I want her to have special ones like I did..but, I also, want her to understand the true meaning and reason for Christmas..not all about the "stuff, traditions, gifts, etc" but about Jesus. Thought this was pretty cool..and the author is from TN.

I
I
know
Christmas
means to me
a gift of life, I’ve
been set free. When
I think of how God gave
his son, remission of sin for
everyone. How humble at his
feet I fall. He knows my heart and
he’s my all. An awesome Jesus nailed
to the cross, who shed his blood to save
the lost. He died there, for you and me, that
we have life, abundantly. When you celebrate
this Christmas morn, inside with family, cozy and
warm. With presents around the Christmas tree. It’s
not about-- you and me. It’s not what you get, or what
it’s worth. It’s to celebrate our Savior’s birth. Remember
JESUS IS THE REASON-THE REAL REASON, FOR THE
SEASON.
Praise
his
holy
name.
Give
God
the
praise
he is due.

( C ) December 1, 2008 Clarence “Sonny” White]

Clarence "Sonny" White was born in Covington, Tennessee moving to Illinois at the age of 17. He has written Poetry and songs as long as he can remember. Sonny is A born again Christian and likes to write Poetry and songs to help spread Gods word..

We had two lazy days with Matt, gotta love days off with him! We went outside for just a little bit to see what Presley would think of this beautiful weather..and she LOVED it.. she spend most of the time trying to eat it. It made me think of my great grandmother, we called her Mama Nora..I remember being around 6 or 7 and it snowed in Memphis ( which was a rare thing) and she made me snow ice cream.. so I had to look up a recipe.. Maybe I will make it for P :) I got the ruler out, and we currently have 8 inches!!

Paula Dean's Snow Ice Cream-- it is the same way Mama Nora made it :)

Ingredients

Directions

Place snow or shaved ice into a large bowl. Pour condensed milk over and add vanilla. Mix to combine. Serve immediately in bowls.
~Here are some sweet pics of Presley and Matt.. I think she will LOVE snow ice cream, after viewing these, I think you will agree :)
