Easter is such a special time for me, I have fond memories of it growing us..My mom always made us a special basket, and got us something she knew we would love..but, her true emphasis was on Jesus and taking us to Church that morning. I was raised in Church, and was there just about every time the doors were open, but I knew Easter was special.
It was always kindof sad to me to see how crowded that Sunday was, so many people just go to Church on Easter...I never understood, did they think they were doing Him a favor?? You gave your son..who died for my eternal life..I will go to Church one time a year?? BUT, maybe that one time would plant a seed and get them to see what Church is really about. Its about growing in our walk..about fellowship with other believers, its about showing Him he really is important. I am so blessed to have had parents that raised me going to Church, but, never pushy about it. I saw Jesus in them, I saw their walk, and that's what made me want to go. To me, that is what Easter is about..not the Easter Bunny.. about a God would LOVE me unconditionally, that he gave his ONLY son for me. Amazing. I can't say I could do the same. Presley is my heart. And now, that I am a parent, I truely see HIS love for me. I can only pray that I make him pleased with my life. I hope others see Him in me. I hope my little girl learns to love her creator, and see the important of what Easter is.. Not get wrapped up in a bunny, candy, or things.
I am so thankful for my salvation, and a God that like the verse in Hebrews says, "Will NEVER leave or forsake me."
